A Plea

I blinked and the stars went out

Someone turned out the light

Oh, where did the moon go

tonight?

I reached and your hand wasn’t there

No comforting touch

Where did your hand go

tonight?

I listened, but I couldn’t hear you

The voices drowned yours out

Oh, where did your voice go

tonight?

How will I see without you?

When will I hear your voice?

And, what will I feel without you?

Don’t take away the light.

Don’t take your hand away.

Oh please, won’t you speak to me

Tonight?
