The Yukon (not just any 'ol Yukon)

It's not "Yukon"; it's the Yukon. As my editor says, it's like "the cutlery" at Thanksgiving or Christmas. It's special. It's not just Yukon. It's the Yukon. Get the distinction?

(This one's for Darrell, editor of What's Up Yukon. And these are his words:

"OK, how about this: 'The' is a determiner for that which is 'easily understood,' according to the Oxford Dictionary of Current English. It also refers to 'something that is one of a kind' and 'something in a general rather than specific way.'  My Yukon is easily understood, it is one of a kind and generally beautiful.

"Sorry, that was too long. Here is something shorter:

"This is not just any Yukon; this is 'The' Yukon," says Darrell.
